At Disc-O-Bed, we are aware of our responsibility - not only as a company that produces innovative and high-quality sleeping solutions for outdoor experiences and disaster relief, but also as part of a global community that is actively committed to protecting our planet and its wildlife. We know that nature and its creatures need our protection. We support the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in a long-term partnership that focuses on protecting an endangered species - the rhinoceros.
Why rhinos?
Rhinos are some of the most fascinating animals on our planet. However, these majestic and peaceful giants have a serious problem: they are threatened with extinction. Every year, countless rhinos fall victim to poachers who are after their horns. These are traded illegally and have a high value on the black market - especially in parts of Asia, where they are considered medicinal or status symbols.
As a company with roots in South Africa , one of the few remaining rhino habitats, protecting these animals is something we are particularly passionate about. We have learned first-hand how endangered these amazing animals are and how important it is to preserve them for future generations.
Our partnership with WWF
In order to make an active contribution to protecting rhinos, we support the work of the WWF . The WWF is one of the world's leading organizations when it comes to protecting endangered species and habitats. In South Africa in particular, the WWF is heavily involved in the fight against poaching and the protection of rhinos.
As part of our partnership, we help fund important WWF projects to protect these animals. These include:

Combating poaching: WWF works tirelessly to reduce poaching, including supporting local rangers who take direct action against poachers and protect rhinos, and using technology such as drones to better monitor areas at risk.

Protecting habitats: Rhinos' habitats are increasingly being restricted by human activities such as agriculture and settlement. WWF is committed to conserving and protecting these habitats so that rhinos can live in their natural environment.

Raising awareness among the local population: Another important point is to educate the local population about the importance of rhino conservation. WWF promotes initiatives that offer people in the affected regions alternative sources of income so that they do not have to rely on poaching or the illegal trade in rhino horns.
